Royal Academy Schools East Anglia Group Exhibition to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Royal Academy at the Halesworth Gallery, Suffolk
21st July to 8th August 2018

Ronald Hellen will be joining members of the Royal Academy Schools East Anglia Group to take part in a group exhibition entitled ‘Legacy’ to be held at the Halesworth Gallery, Suffolk from 21st July to 8th August 2018.

The exhibition will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Royal Academy of Arts and those taking part will reflect on how their studies and their tutors at the Royal Academy Schools have influenced their artwork through their careers.

Participating artists include: Linda Adcock, Lucy Bell, Michael Checketts, Kay Edwards, Chris Glanville, Paul Hawdon, Ronald Hellen, Melvyn King, Mary Millar Watt, M J Mott, Daphne Sandham, Ivy Smith, Robin Warnes and Joceline Wickham.

A number of events are scheduled during the exhibition at the Halesworth Gallery:

Sat 21 July, 2.00-5.00pm: Drawing Demonstration, Ronald Hellen
Wed 25 July, 11.30am-12.30pm: Linocut Printing Demonstration, Ivy Smith
Afternoon of Wed 25 July: RA East Anglia Group members give a talk on their experiences of studying at the Royal Academy Schools
Thurs 26 July, 2.00-5.00pm: Monotypes and colour separation without a press demonstration, Daphne Sandham

Past Exhibitions

Edward Bawden and his Friends and Followers – 18th to 23rd June 2018, Morley Gallery, London
Ronald Hellen was commissioned to provide a new artwork for Neil Jennings’ exhibition on Edward Bawden at the Morley Gallery, which coincides with the Edward Bawden exhibition being held at Dulwich Picture Gallery.  Edward Bawden was Ronald Hellen’s tutor at the Royal Academy Schools.

Ronald Hellen exhibited at the Halesworth Gallery, Suffolk from 2 – 20 September 2017 and the Rye Society of Artists exhibition, Rye, East Sussex from 5 – 27 August 2017.

His painting Reflections in an Aquarium was selected for exhibition at the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition from 13 June – 20 August 2017.

Ronald Hellen was selected to exhibit at the Halesworth Gallery, Halesworth, Suffolk, from 30th July to 17th August 2016 alongside artists, Yvonne Forster and Peter Fowler.  The exhibition was entitled: ‘Viewing Change’.

Ronald Hellen exhibited with the Royal Academy Schools East Anglia Group at the Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh, Suffolk from 15th to 20th April 2016.
